Central Division

Central Division encompasses a large and diverse area that includes the downtown business community, Near Southside (Hospital District), Texas A&M downtown campus, one of the busiest sections of the W. 7th corridor (including Montgomery Plaza, So7, and the Crockett Row residential, retail, and commercial development) as well as many historic neighborhoods immediately surrounding these areas. Also within its boundaries are the major shelters for homeless individuals and families. The business, medical, and educational communities located in Central create a significant transient population commuting to and from work each day. After business hours, the Central Business District transforms into a vibrant entertainment scene, home to many popular restaurants, bars and events.
