Officer Involved Shootings

Effective September 1, 2015, Article 2.139 and 2.1395 were added to the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure requiring law enforcement agencies;to complete and submit a report of an officer-involved injury or death to the attorney general and to post the form on their website.

The law also requires the office of the attorney general to submit a report regarding all incidents to the governor and the standing legislative committees with primary jurisdiction over criminal justice matters by February 1st of each year.
