South Command

Deputy Chief Michael SheddSouth Command is under the direction of Deputy Chief Shedd and consists of South Division, East Division, Traffic Division, and the Air Support Division. A veteran of the United States Army, Deputy Chief Michael Shedd started his career with the Fort Worth Police Department in 1995. He earned his BA in Chemistry and Russian from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University. Deputy Chief Shedd is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute, the FBI-National Academy and holds a Master Peace Officers license.

Prior to his current assignment, he served as the commander of the East Division, the captain of the training academy, as the lieutenant over S.W.A.T, as an investigator in Internal Affairs, and in various other roles throughout the department. Currently, Deputy Chief Shedd is responsible for South Command in the Patrol Bureau which includes East Division, South Division and the Traffic Division.
