Operational Command

Deputy Chief Michael SheddOperational Command consists of the Training Division, Professional Standards Division, and Communications Division & Quality Assurance and is currently overseen by Deputy Chief Shedd.  A veteran of the United States Army, Deputy Chief Michael Shedd started his career with the Fort Worth Police Department in 1995. He earned his BA in Chemistry and Russian from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University. Deputy Chief Shedd is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute, the FBI-National Academy and holds a Master Peace Officers license. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the South Command Deputy Chief, commander of the East Division, the captain of the training academy, as the lieutenant over S.W.A.T, as an investigator in Internal Affairs, and in various other roles throughout the department.
