FY2022 CCPD Funding Strategy

The City of Fort Worth is announcing a new funding strategy for FY2022. The goal of the funding strategy is to assist community-based organizations achieve the mission of CCPD: “To enhance the Fort Worth Police Department’s ability to provide quality service and to work in partnership with the community to reduce crime and to create a safe environment for all.”

The new Community-Based Programs strategy focuses on strengthening non-profit agencies and their responses to crime and safety problems in order establish long-term change. This will be achieved through Development Grants (1-Year/$50,000) and Program Grants (3-Years/$300,000).

Development Grants - Develop strong agencies & effective responses on crime/safety problems

1. Capacity Building Projects -  Capacity Building Projects provide up to $50,000 over one year for eligible agencies working with foster care youth, previously incarcerated persons, or “Police/Community Relations.” Funds can be used to contract with a non-profit consultant to enhance the agency’s capability to perform daily operations.

2. Planning Projects - Planning Projects provide up to $50,000 over one year for eligible agencies working with foster care youth, previously incarcerated persons, or “Police/Community Relations.” Funds can be used to contract with a research consultant to develop the agency’s strategy and response to a crime/safety problem. 

3. Special Projects - Special Projects provide up to $50,000 over one year to well-qualified and established non-profit agencies that propose to address at least one CCPD Goal. Funds can be used to establish new or expand/improve current programs that are likely to be sustained beyond the project period. 

Program Grants - Establish effective responses on crime/safety problems in the community
Program Grants provide up to $300,000 over three years for non-profit agencies with the capability to impact at least one CCPD Goal. Funds can be used for projects with a well-documented plan of action that is likely to result in the measurable change of a relevant crime/safety problem.
