North Command

North Command is under the direction of Deputy Chief Joseph Sparrow who began his career with the Fort Worth Police Department in 1995.  North Command consists of the North, Northwest, and West Patrol Divisions as well as the Traffic Division.  Deputy Chief Sparrow has served in various ranks and positions including patrol officer, sex assault detective, patrol sergeant, NPD commander, Gang commander, School Resource commander, and was recently the commander of the Central Patrol Division. Deputy Chief Sparrow has earned both Master’s and Doctorate degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a 2018 graduate of the FBI National Academy.

The practices cover various aspects of law enforcement: use of force, protection of citizen rights, pursuits, property and evidence management, and patrol and investigative operations.
