Obtaining TCOLE Credit

Academy Courses - If you are teaching a course at the academy for TCOLE credit, the following documents must be on file with The Advanced Training Unit at least two weeks PRIOR to the course start date:

  • Approved Lesson Plan (with learning objectives and DETAILED information describing how the content used to teach the Learning Objectives)
  • Instructor Resume (must be a TCOLE instructor to teach a TCOLE accredited courses or have a TCOLE instructor as part of the teaching team if multiple instructors are used)
  • Test (Written, verbal, or practical. If a practical test is used, we need a list of the criteria used to determine if the students meet the standards of the test)
  • PowerPoint (If used)
  • Handouts (if used)
  • Scenarios (if used)
  • Course Evaluation from every student upon completion of the course

Outside Courses - If you are hosting a conference or an outside course and wish to provide TCOLE credit to those attending the course, please contact The Advanced Training Unit PRIOR to advertising the availability of TCOLE credit. There are specific criteria that must be met before we can authorize TCOLE credit through The Advanced Training Unit for an outside course.

If you attended an outside course as a student and you wish to receive TCOLE credit for the course, you will need to provide a copy of a certificate of completion to Renee Lamond in The Advanced Training Unit within 15 days of the course.
